President Shim'on Peres cast his ballot, Tuesday morning, in the elections for the 19th Knesset. After he voted, he called on Israelis to get out and vote "for a free, democratic and beautiful state". Also voting in Jerusalem was Aryeh Der'i, one of the three co-chairmen of the Shas party.
Chairman Avigdor Lieberman cast his ballot in the Judean Jewish community of Nokdim, while Chairman Naftali Bennett of Habayit Hayehudi (Jewish Home, New National Religious Party) and his wife voted in Ra'anana, northeast of Tel Aviv. Knesset members Aryeh Eldad and Michael Ben-Ari, who head the Otzma Leyisrael party, also voted. After he cast his ballot, Dr. Ben-Ari said, "We will get back for whatever effort we expend today. Every vote for Netz [the Otzma Leyisrael ballot initials -ed.] is a 'present' for [hostile Arab Knesset members Hanin] Zoabi and [Ahmed] Tibi."
