The Tel Aviv Stock Exchange opened Monday-morning trading with modest gains in mixed trading. About ten minutes into the session, the TA Composite Index stood at 1.053.44, up .04 percent. The same percentage increase meant a posting of 1,057.30 for the TA 100 and 428.09 for the 50 issues just outside the TA 100, while the TA 25 most-widely-invested stocks advanced .01,189.47.
Leading the gainers was the biomed index, which rose seven tenths of a percent to 815.45, while the rest of the technology issues stood at 329.24, up .16 percent. The bank stocks advanced two tenths of a percent to 1,116.72 as the financial institutions stood at 1,055.85, up .01 percent, including a .33-percent drop to 1,172.30 by the insurance index. The oil and natural-gas issues slipped .07 percent to 1,158.70, followed by the real-estate stocks, which stood at 311.11, down .13 percent, and the communications index declined .34 percent to 517.73.
