Otzma Leyisrael Activists Attacked by Arabs in Lod

Two 15-year-old girls were attacked, Sunday evening, as they were handing out flyers while on their way out of the Rakevet (Railroad) neighborhood of the mixed Jewish-Arab city of Lod, southeast of Tel Aviv. The attackers were apparently Arabs who were putting up banners featuring a picture of candidate Ahmed Tibi of the Ra'am-Ta'al-United Arab List. The girls called campaign headquarters which send a car to evacuate them, but they suffered minor injuries, not only from the blows they suffered before the car's arrival, but from glass that was broken by rocks and cement blocks thrown at the vehicle as it sped away.

Leaders of Otzma Leyisrael said they would go to the neighborhood on election day to show who's boss. They said it was impossible that youngsters would be attacked in the heart of the state of Israel just because they were Jewish.
