The death toll from the hostage crisis in Algeria rose to 80 overnight Sunday, a local security official said.

Algerian security forces who searched for any explosives that may have been planted in the gas field that was taken over by Al Qaeda-linked terrorists had found dozens of new bodies, the official added.
