Egypt: Building Torched During Alexandria Protest

A building housing a court and two trucks were torched on Sunday in the Egyptian city of Alexandria, during clashes that broke out between protesters and police. Part of the building was destroyed and documents were burned. The protesters threw rocks at the police, who sprayed them with tear gas.

The court in the building that was torched has been holding the trial of six senior police officers, who are accused of being responsible for the deaths of demonstrators during the riots in the country in 2011.
