Rubinstein Throws Cold Water on Kahlon Appointment

The Chairman of the Central Elections Committee, Judge Elyakim Rubinstein, did not permit Israel’s television and radio channels to broadcast a Sunday evening Likud press conference at the Inbal Hotel in Jerusalem, during which Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu was to officially announce the appointment of outgoing Minister Moshe Kahlon as the chairman of the Israel Lands Administration.

Rubinstein explained his decision by noting that airing the press conference would be a violation of the law which prohibits the broadcasting of election propaganda.
