Threats Bring Suspension of Foreign Kashrut Inspection

The Chief Rabbinate announced, Sunday evening, that the chief rabbis and management have decided to shut down the foreign-slaughter department of the rabbinate's kashrut branch until next week.  The rabbinate cited anonymous threats against employees of the department.

The chief rabbis also called for an urgent meeting with Police Commissioner Yochanan Danino to discuss the impossible situation in which public servants who faithfully perform their job must absorb threats to themselves and to their families.
