      Moderate Losses for Tel Aviv Stocks


      Most of the featured indices on the Tel Aviv Stock Exchange opened the trading week, Sunday, by posting moderate losses. The TA Composite Index closed at 1,052.98, down 1.27 percent, while the TA 100 declined 1.31 percent to 1,056.83, including a 1.52-percent drop to 1,189.26 by the TA 25 most-widely-invested issues.

      The bank stocks were the worst hit, diving 2.74 percent to 1,114.54 as the financial institutions finished the day at 1,055.71, down 2.33 percent, including a 1.74-percent loss to 1,176.24 by the insurance index. The real-estate issues ended the day at 311.51, down 1.21 percent, followed by the oil and natural-gas stocks, which slumped 1.11 percent to 1,159.47. Most of the technology index stood at .45 percent, while the biomed issues declined .45 percent to 809.80 and the communications stocks stood at 519.52, down .34 percent.
