UTJ Told: Don't Tell Voters that They'll be Blessed

Chairman Eliyakim Rubinstein of the Central Elections Committee ordered the heads of the United Torah Judaism party, Sunday, that their campaign advertisements must tell voters that "they will merit all the good things from the Source of plenty," instead of saying, "they will be blessed with all the blessings from the Source of blessings." The order followed a petition by the Hidush movement against religious coercion seeking to enforce a ban in election laws against the promise of blessings.

All the hareidi dailies carried the banned wording, this weekend, in an ad signed by senior rabbis and rebbes of the party.
