Five Bolivians were arrested over the weekend as part of a drug smuggling operation.
Two women and a man were arrested at Ben Gurion Airport on suspicion of trying to smuggle seven kilograms of cocaine from Bolivia.
In addition, a Bolivian chemist, tasked with turning the drug from a liquid into a powder, was arrested on Thursday. Another resident of Bolivia was also arrested on suspicion of engaging in the distribution of the drug in the country. The suspects were arrested by detective unit 747. The arrest of the suspects was extended until Monday.
