Hatnua asked the Central Elections Committee to disqualify the candidacy of Jewish Home's Jeremy Gimpel because of statements he made in a video about the Al Aqsa Mosque in Jerusalem.

In the Youtube video, Gimpel is seen speaking before a Christian group and jokes about the theoretical possibility that the Al Aqsa Mosque would one day be blown up.

The petition was filed by MK Yoel Hasson, claiming Gimpel's words should be considered incitement. He said the delusions of the party will ignite the Middle East and lead to a third world war.
