The funeral for Ariel Mayor Ron Nachman, who died on Friday, will be held Sunday at 15:00 in Ariel.

He is survived by his wife, four daughters and ten grandchildren. 

Nachman, one of the most prominent Jewish leaders in Judea and Samaria, was elected to the 13th Knesset as part of the Likud party and was a member of the Finance Committee and the Knesset Constitution, Law and Justice Committee. He was first elected to lead the Ariel Regional Council in 1978, a position from which he resigned after one year. He was re-elected as mayor of Ariel in 1985 and remained in that position until his death.
