Chairman Yair Lapid of the Yesh Atid party participated, Friday in an "Academic Friday" program in Ohr Yehudah, hosted by journalist Nechama Douek. Asked about a new poll that put Yesh Atid in third ֲ place in the Knesset voting with 13 projected seats, he said, "A position of power, in and of itself, does not matter. The question is what do you do. I will not enter a government that won't make equality of service." Calling inequality of service a "moral distortion", he said, "When ֲ the prime minister talks about ֲ the Yesh Atid program for equal service for all with an outline that can be implemented, I believe this really can finally happen after 64 years in which nothing happened and nothing was done."
Regarding figures released this week, which showed the budget deficit was twice as high as expected, he said,ֲ "The deficit is not reasonable. It is the result of irresponsible economic policy.ֲ This is a loan at the expense of our children, who see their parents struggle and work hard and pay taxes and serve in the army and cannot make ends meet. What kind of future are we creatingֲ for them?"
