Most of the indices on the Tel Aviv Stock Exchange ended the trading week, Thursday with modest gains. The TA Composite Index closed at 1,066.53, up .08 percent, while the same percentage gain meant postings of 1,078.86 for the TA 100, while the TA 25 most-widely-invested issues slipped .08 percent to 1,207.67, and the 50 stocks just outside the TA 100 rose three tenths of a percent to 430.78.
The insurance index led the gainers, jumping 1.97 percent to 1,197.06 as the financial institutions finished the day at 1,080.85, up .16 percent, including a .65-percent drop by the bank issues to 1,145.93. The real-estate stocks closed at 315.33, up .87 percent, just ahead of most of the technology index, which advanced .86 percent to 330.19, while the biomed issues gained .68 percent to 813.62. The Ma'ala organization's list of socially-responsible companies ended the day at ֲ 888.23, upֲ .58 percent, while theֲ oil and natural-gas stocks rose .35 percent toֲ 1,172.48 and the communications index fell .21 percent to 521.31.
