More Boeing 787s Grounded

Air India has announced that it too will ground its fleet of six Boeing 787 Dreamliners for thorough maintenance, following numerous aircraft malfunctions worldwide.

Japan and the US have also suspended their 787s for the same reason. only 50 Dreamliners have been manufactured so far.

The 787s rely on a battery-operated control system, perhaps more state of the art than older hydraulic systems, but far more prone to malfunction.
