The state has filed a request to the Supreme Court asking to remove tents set up by Arabs in the E-1 neighborhood of Maaleh Adumim. The tents were put up in protest of Israel’s plans to allow Israeli companies to build on what the Palestinian Authority views as Arab land.
The Supreme Court put out a temporary order against removing the tents after several Bedouins filed a suit claiming ownership of the land.
State attorneys argued that the Bedouin suit should be rejected for several reasons, including the plaintiffs’ having hidden significant information from the court. The tents must be removed immediately for security reasons, they said.
