      Remand Hearing for 8 in Bituach Leumi Fraud Case


      Eight people suspected of defrauding the Bituach Le'umi National Insurance Institue of millions of shekels face remand hearings, Tuesday morning, in the Rishon Letzion Magistrates Court, as the investigation continues. Among the suspects are people from one of the largest suppliers of special equipment for use in the vehicles of disabled people, who are suspected of showing disabled people how to create a false impression in order to get approval by a Health Ministry committee for equipment that is more expensive than what they need and an increased mobility allowance. One of the suspects is a representative of the Health Ministry committee.

      The suspects face charges aggravated receiving something via fraud, breach of trust, bribery and money laundering.
