Most of the indices on the Tel Aviv Stock Exchange opened Monday-morning trading with modest gains. About 35 minutes into the session, the TA Composite Index stood at 1,075.91, up .12 percent, while the TA 100 rose .13 percent to 1,080.61, including a rise of .21 percent to 1,220.36 by the TA 25 most-widely-invested issues.
Leading the gainers were the communications stocks, which advanced .61 percent to 523.93, followed by the bank index, which stood at 1,186.12, up .41 percent as the financial institutions rose two tenths of a percent to 1,109.04, including a .04-percent slip to 1,200.46 by the insurance issues. A .2-percent gain meant a posting of 1,170.88 by the oil and natural gas stocks. Most of the technology index stood at 330.70, up .35 percent, while the biomed issues rose .23 percent to 826.15. An advance of .26 percent meant a posting of 318.51 for the real estate index and 902.77 for the Ma'ala organization's list of socially responsible companies.
