Colin Powell: We Don't Have to Always Agree with Israel

Former secretary of state Colin Powell of the United States defended, Sunday, the nomination of former Nebraska senator Chuck Hagel to replace outgoing Secretary of Defense Leon Panetta. Hagel has been criticized for the views he has expressed about Israel and Iran.

Interviewed on the National Broadcasting Company's "Meet the Press", the former chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff said, "I'm very supportive of the state of Israel. So is Senator Hagel, and you will see that in the confirmation hearings, but it doesn't mean you have to agree with every single position that the Israeli government takes."
