Oppenheimer Petitions Against Habayit Hayehudi

Yariv Oppenheimer, who suspended his chairmanship in the extreme leftist Peace Now organization to mount an unsuccessful bid for the Knesset on the Labor Party ticket, filed a petition, Sunday, with the Central Elections Committee, against the request by Habayit Hayehudi (Jewish Home-New National Religious Party) for election-day staff and resources from the administrators of Hesdeer educational institutions and yeshivas, which combine military service and religious studies.

Based on the Israel Defense Forces involvement in these institutions, Oppenheimer claimed that the request was against election campaign laws and would constitute an illegal donation.
