Most of the indices on the Tel Aviv Stock Exchange opened the trading week, Sunday, with modest losses. The TA -Composite Index closed at 1,074.66, down .66 percent, while the TA 100 declined .62 percent to 1,079.18, including a .52-percent drop to 1,217.76 by the TA 25 most-widely-invested issues.
The oil and natural-gas stocks rose .69 percent to 1,168.54, while the communications index ended the day at 520.73, up .67 percent. Most of the technology issues slipped an average of .14 percent to 329.54, while the biomed stocks finished the day at 824.27, down .55 percent. The bank index slumped .28 percent to 1,181.30 as the financial institutions closed at 1,106.80, down .35 percent; the insurance issues being the worst hit, falling 1.24 percent to 1,200.91, and the real-estate stocks closed at 317.69, down .54 percent.
