Barak Hirschson, the son of former Finance Minister Avraham Hirschson, faces jail time for driving drunk and causing a crash in which his then-girlfriend was critically injured and left handicapped. Hirschson’s attorneys are asking that he be let off with community service, but prosecutors are seeking a significant prison term.
Hirschson has expressed regret for his actions.
Avraham Hirschson is to be released from prison on parole soon after serving part of a five-year sentence for embezzlement.
