The Yesha Council of Jewish communities in Judea and Samaria (Shomron) saluted, Friday morning, Major-0General Avi Mizrachi, whose resignation from the Israel Defense Forces was accepted on Thursday by Chief of Staff Benny Gantz. Mizrachi's resignation came after he lost out to General Gadi Eisenkott in a bid to become deputy chief of staff.
A statement by the council read, "The Yesha Council salutes Major-General Avi Mizrahi, the commander of Central Command, on his retirement from the army. General Mizrahi gave us, the residents of Yesha, the highest level of security, but gave us something no less important: the feeling that the IDF and the settlement enterprise are two arms of the same body that work together for the benefit of the state of Israel, as well as Jewish and Zionist action." The statement concludes, "We wish Major-General Avi Mizrahi success wherever he goes. There will always be a warm place for him in our hearts."
