Most of the featured indices on the Tel Aviv Stock Exchange ended the trading week, Thursday with modest gains. The TA Composite Index closed at 1,081.83, up .92 percent, while the TA 100 rose .91 percent to 1,085.95, including a 1.14-percent climb to 1,224.11 by the TA 25 most-widely-invested issues. The 50 stocks just outside the TA 100 finished the day at 437.35, up .98 percent.
Leading the gainers was the bank index, which climbed 1.87 percent to 1,184.57, as the financial institutions stood at 1,110.67, up 1.36 percent, including a .02-percent advance to 1,215.93 by the insurance issues. The oil and natural-gas stocks stood at 1,160.55, up .96 percent, followed by most of the technology index, which advanced .76 percent to 330.00, while the biomed issues stood at 828.85, up .43 percent. The Ma'ala organization's list of socially-responsible companies rose .24 percent to 901.06, while the communications and media stocks slumped 1.17 percent to 517.25.
