The Jerusalem municipality said, Thursday afternoon, that it will continue putting salt on city streets in an effort to melt frozen precipitation. The city said it will also deal with other hazards. Extreme temperatures are expected, which could lead to slippery roads.
The municipality advised motorists and pedestrians to be wary of hazards, such as snow that could fall from trees or roofs, as well as falling trees or branches. The city asked those going to the Gan Sacher park, near the Knesset and the Supreme Court, to park only in the Leum parking lot.
The Jerusalem light rail continues to run, although service may not run all the way to Mount Herzl and bus service is available on the main routes. A decision on whether to hold Friday classes is scheduled to me made by 6:00 a.m.
