Shekel, Euro Up; Dollars Outpace Pound; Yen Down

The official value of the shekel rose an average of .016 percent in mixed trading, Thursday, against the featured currencies on the Bank of Israel's foreign-exchange list. The United States dollar was fixed at NIS 3.777, down .159 percent, while the Euro rose .146 percent to 4.9486 shekels.

The pound sterling was set at NIS 6.0605, down .188 percent, while 100 Japanese yen fell .893 percent to 4.2847. The Australian dollar jumped .531 percent to NIS 3.9952 while its Canadian counterpart was fixed at 3.8314 shekels, up .01 percent, and the South African Rand declined .546 percent to NIS .4374.
