Knesset Minister Moshe Ya'alon expressed skepticism regarding the drafting of full time yeshiva students and Israelis of Arabic heritage who were previously exempt from the armed forces. In a statement on Wednesday, he warned of fomenting "Draconian legislation, incitement and hatred." Ya'alon suggested creating special tracks for minorities in the army. Ya'alon is a former Chief of Staff of the Israel Defense Forces.
