The average monthly wage in October was 8,800 shekels ($2,331), according to figures, released Monday, by the Central Bureau of Statistics. After inflation was figured in, the annual percentage calculated on the August-to-October period was 1.8 percent, half of the increase calculated for the May-to-July period.

The number of salaried positions stood at 3.081 million, up a percent for the three months ending in October, following a 1.1-percent increase between May and July.
