Chairman Eliyakim Rubinstein of the Central Elections Committee rejected, Sunday, a petition by the Yerukim (Greens) party to issue an order to cancel a program on Channel 2 Televisio by former anchor Ya'akov Elon.

In his decision, the Supreme Court justice wrote, "The value of equality, and no less important, fairness, justify the giving of the proper treatment by the media to all the lists competing in the Knesset elections. At the same time, it is clear that we're not talking about formal equality under the circumstances. I am not sure that the claims of the petitioners regarding harm to equality justify cancellation of the broadcast but it stands to reason that in the period until the elections, the "little" parties will also be given a voice, more than has been done so until now."
