Shekel Down, Greenback Jumps

The official value of the shekel declined an average of .589 percent, Friday, against the other featured currencies on the Bank of Israel's foreign-exchange list. The United States dollar was fixed at NIS 3.775, up 1.071 percent, while the Euro rose .317 percent to 4.9125 shekels.

The pound sterling was set at NIS 6.056, up .24 percent, while 100 Japanese yen declined three tenths of a percent to 4.2814 shekels. The Canadian dollar climbed .607percent to NIS 3.8115, while its Australian counterpart was fixed at 3.9359 shekels, up .311 percent, and the South African Rand rose .298 percent to NIS .4372.
