The Company for Location and Restitution of Holocaust Survivor Assets will launch a nationwide program in 2013 to ease the loneliness and isolation of the survivors. The program was born of a successful pilot project in cooperation with the Yad Sarah organization, which sent volunteers to 800 survivors in the Jerusalem area during the past year.
Under the pilot program, a volunteer would visit a survivor once a week or more if the survivor so requested. Participating survivors also received a panic button to alert medical and other authorities of emergencies, free of charge, with no deposit or time limitation. The Company for Location and Restitution of Holocaust Survivor Assets is recruiting survivors and organizations providing assistance in order to expand the program.
