MK Michael Ben Ari called a short while ago from the Knesset podium asked his fellow Knesset members to lead by personal example and back a proposal to cut their own salaries.

On Facebook, Ben Ari later wrote, "Shame! At a time when the public is being stifled with VAT and other taxes, we are raising the wages of Knesset members…I hope that in the next Knesset more MKs will join me who will take away this disgrace, to reduce the salaries by 30%…This can be an example for the economy to reduce the exorbitant wage gap in the public sector.
