Senior IDF Official: Undercover Op in Tammun a Success

A senior military official denied reports coming from Palestinian-Arab sources claiming that an undercover IDF unit in the Arab village of Tammun was made by Palestinian-Arabs in the village.

The official said undercover operations like the one in Tammun are fairly common and that the purpose of the operation was to arrest members of a terrorist cell, most likely part of Islamic Jihad.

The official emphasized that although clashes did break out, the IDF forces completed their assignment. He also stressed that despite media reports, only five Palestinians were wounded, all of them minor, and two IDF soldiers were lightly injured as well.
