Poll: 83% Don't Believe '67 Borders will Solve Conflict

An Israeli return to its June 4, 1967 borders won't lead to a peace agreement or the end of the Arab-Israeli conflict, according to 83 percent of those surveyed by Doctor Mina Tzemach in a poll commissioned by the Jerusalem Public Affairs Center, which appeared, Monday morning, in the Yisrael Hayom daily.

A significant  ratio said they would change their vote if it became clear that their party was ready to return territory taken in the Six-Day War and concede Israeli sovereignty in the eastern part of Jerusalem, including the Old City. A surprising 67 percent of center-left voters said that a party's willingness to concede Jerusalem would cause them to consider voting for another party.
