Police in Force for Monday Night Partying

The Israel Police, Border Guards, citizen volunteers and other agencies will be out in force, Monday evening, in an effort to make it safe for people who are celebrating the beginning of the secular year. The focus is on avoiding violence and alcohol abuse at entertainment spots and on the nation's roads.

Security operations will include mobile and stationary checkpoints, searches, patrols and security checks, with emphasis on the prominent presence of the police. At the same time, undercover and uniformed officers will be involved in enforcement of laws against selling alcohol and smoking materials to minors. They will also be on the lookout for firearms and knives.
