Most of the indices at the Tel Aviv Stock Exchange showed modest losses at the start of trading on Monday. About a quarter of an hour into the session, the TA Composite Index stood at 1,043.73, down .19 percent, while the TA 100 declined two tenths of a percent to 1,048.58, including a .17-percent drop to 1,184.71 by the Maof 25 most-widely-invested issues. The 50 stocks just outside the TA 100 edged up .01 percent to 420.68.
Most of the technology index slipped .07 percent to 323.46, while the biomed issues stood at 776.63, down .54 percent. The communications stocks declined .13 percent to 504.99, followed by drops of .15 percent for the bank index (1,136.04) and the insurance issues (1,221.33), as the financial institutions fell .22 percent to 1,074. The oil and natural-gas stocks stocks stood at 1,132.27, down .27 percent, while the real-estate index declined .33 percent to 305.04.
