About 800 employees of the Pelephone cellular telephone service continued their strike for recognition of unionizing efforts with the Histadrut Labor Federation on Monday. Workers held a military wake-up ceremony opposite the home of Pelephone chief Gil Sharon at 7:00 a.m., together with activists from the Dror movement, and said they would continue to demonstrate outside the company's customer-service centers.
The strike is in its fourth week. The workers' committee issued a statement that read, "We will hold demonstrations every day until the management of Pelephone opens its eyes and understands that Pelephone has a committee."
