Committee Created to Help Autistic Children

Director-General Harel Locker of the Prime Minister's Office reached agreement, Sunday evening, with ALUT, the national society for autistic children, on establishment of an inter-office which will examine how to deal with the society's requests. Establishment of the committee follows a demonstration by the families of autistic children last week, outside the Prime Minister's Office.

The committee will be headed by the Director-General of the Welfare Ministry and include representatives of the Prime Minister's Office, the Treasury and the Ministries of Health and Education. Among other things, the committee will promote legislation on the subject and is scheduled to submit its conclusions to the Prime Minister's Office in 60 days.
