An indictment was filed Sunday against Avigdor Lieberman, who until recently served as Foreign Minister. The indictment charges Lieberman with breach of trust for allegedly using his political clout to get Zev Ben-Aryeh appointed as an ambassador.
Both Lieberman and Ben-Aryeh deny the charges.
Lieberman stepped down from his post recently when the State Prosecution announced its plans to indict him. He expressed hope at the time that an indictment would be filed quickly so that he could deal with the affair and, he said, return to normal political life.
