The official value of the shekel rose an average of .377 percent, Thursday, against most of the other featured currencies on the Bank of Israel's foreign-exchange list. The United States dollar was fixed at NIS 3.726, up .56 percent from Wednesday's rate, while the Euro slipped .196 percent to 4.9248 shekels.
The pound sterling was set at NIS 6.0303, down .311 percent, while 100 Japanese yen fell 1.03 percent to 4.342 shekels. The Canadian dollar was fixed at 3.7586 shekels, down .339 percent, while its Australian counterpart declined .386 percent to NIS 3.8679 and the Egyptian pound was set at .6018 shekels, down .775 percent. The South African Rand rose .046 percent to NIS .4383.
