Israeli Grateful Dead Tribute Celebrates 5 Years


In Jerusalem, it's no surprise if members of a Grateful Dead tribute band wear kippot and tzitzit. The Elevators will perform what they call "Brotherhood Boogie and Bliss". Lead singer Aryeh Naftali is from Moshav Mevo Modiin, the agriculural community established by Rabbi Shlomo Carlebach in the 1970s. The concert will feature cover versions of the popular American rock group the Grateful Dead. It will be held January 2nd at the Yellow Submarine in Jerusalem.
