Upper Nazareth Loses Prize over Comptroller's Report

Natzrat Illit (Upper Nazareth) has lost a prize from the Interior Ministry, given for sound financial management, over the latest State Comptroller's report. The report accused city officials of financial misconduct, and cited an incident in which hundreds of salaries were allegedly held up due to a dispute between officials.
Mayor Shimon Gaspo slammed the report Tuesday as "worthless, a waste of time and of taxpayer money." He dismissed the charges against his administration as unfounded, and accused the comptroller's office of seeking sensationalist headlines rather than real issues to address.
