Woman who Shot US Consultant in Kabul was from Iran

According to an Afghan official, the policewoman who killed a US consultant in Kabul Monday morning is an Iranian who came to Afghanistan 10 years ago with her husband and obtained a fake ID through him.

The Interior Ministry spokesman said on Tuesday that the investigation into the woman, Sergeant Nargas, 49, did not reveal any terrorist links so far.

On Monday Nargas shot 49-year-old Joseph Griffin, of Georgia, in what has become a trend of insider attacks by Afghans against their foreign allies.

Griffin was a U.S. military veteran who was in Kabul on assignment to help the Afghan police force.
