Most of the indices on the Tel Aviv Stock Exchange opened Tuesday trading with modest gains. About 20 minutes into the session, the TA Composite Index stood at 1,049.98, up .17 percent, while the TA 100 rose .18 percent to 1,054.22, including a .21-percent gain to 1,193.38.
Leading the way were the financial institutions, which stood at 1,069.55, up .47 percent. The same percentage increase meant a posting of 1,141.87 for the bank stocks, while the insurance index advanced two tenths of a percent to 1,191.59. The same percentage gain meant the real estate issues stood at 301.83, followed by the oil and natural gas stocks, which rose .14 percent to 1,175.42. Most of the technology index stood at 328.22, up a tenth of a percent, while the biomed issues declined .14 percent to 786.59. The communications and media stocks stood at 511.96, down .21 percent.
