Modest to moderate losses were recorded on the featured indices of the Tel Aviv Stock Exchange at the start of trading on Monday. About 25 minutes into the session, the TA Composite Index stood at 1,053.25, down .56 percent, while the TA 100 declined six tenths of a percent to 1,056.99, including a seven-tenths-of-a-percent drop to 1,195.55 by the Maof 25 most-widely-invested issues.
Worst hit were the bank stocks, which stood at 1,147.58, down 1.36 percent, as the financial institutions floundered 1.1 percent to 1,076.28, including a .47-percent decline to 1,209.09 by the insurance index. The real-estate issues stood at 304.53, down .57 percent, while the oil and natural-gas stocks declined .53 percent to 1,172.50. Most of the technology index stood at 328.02, down three tenths of a percent, while the biomed index slipped .27 percent to 796.53. The communications and media index stood at 517.60, down .22 percent.
