The United States has delivered two naval support ships to Iraq, which is seeking to boost its fledgling maritime capabilities, the U.S. embassy said on Sunday.
The two 200-foot offshore support vessels were delivered by the U.S, navy on December 20, the embassy said in a statement quoted by AFP.
The vessels are "large, multi-purpose, multi-functional ships capable of providing a wide range of support to Iraqi naval operations," said the statement.
