With a plunge in the final hour or so of trading, the Tel Aviv Stock Exchange registered losses ranging from modest to sharp, Sunday, to open up the week. The TA Composite Index closed at 1,059.22, down 1.22 percent, while the TA 100 slumped 1.25 percent to 1,063.22, including a 1.38-percent drop to 1,203.92 by the Maof 25 most-widely-invested issues.
Worst hit were most of the technology stocks, which finished the day at 329.01, down 2.23 percent, while the biomed index declined 1.82 percent to 798.70. The bank issues closed at 1,163.42, down 1.84 percent as the financial institutions fell 1.28 percent to 1,088.21, including a .66-percent decline to 1,214.76 by the insurance stocks. The same percentage drop meant a close of 1,178.70 for the oil and natural gas index, while the communications and media issues declined 1.28 percent to 518.72 and the real estate stocks closed at 306.28, down .29 percent.
