Bus Companies Refuse Anti-Hareidi Kadima Campaign

The Egged and Dan companies have told the Kadima party that they won't allow their buses to carry a Kadima campaign for equal burden of national service unless the party changes the wording of the advertisements from the Hebrew for "[draft-age] yeshiva students" to "those who don't serve".

Kadima issued a statement that said, "The bus companies are coming out against Israel Defense Forces soldiers who carry the burden and risk their lives every day for Israel's security. These companies transport the soldiers to their bases and back home. These activities comprise a nice profit for their owners and now they choose to censor, out of considerations that would be appropriate to clarify, a national ethical message which calls [on the reader] to compare the conditions of the soldiers, who earn the low wage of about 350 shekels a month, with the conditions of the yeshiva students, who earn about 3,400 shekels.
