Former IDF Chief of Staff Amnon Lipkin-Shahak passed away Wednesday at the age of 68. Lipkin-Shahak was hospitalized Tuesday in serious condition after battling cancer.

Lipkin-Shahak was awarded twice for courage on the battlefield. He was later in politics for several years, and served as Tourism Minister and Transportation Minister.
