The ongoing nurses’ strike is unnecessary, says “E,” a nurse from central Israel who spoke to Arutz Sheva. “We work hard, but not all the nurses earn low salaries like they say in the media,” she said. “I look at my pay slip and I’m pleased with the numbers I see. I earn according to my work and I see no reason to strike.”
“E” accused the Nurses’ Union of taking advantage of the outgoing government. “Elections are approaching and the nurses think they can pressure the government and get money and whatever they want,” she accused.
Nurses’ Union leaders say they are fighting to increase the nurse-to-patient ratio as well as for nurses’ salaries and benefits. They have warned of a critical nursing shortage if their demands are not met.
